****CHANGES TO COMMUNITY LEAGUE MEMBERSHIPS****
SWAT will not be selling community league membership cards.
On April 19, 2010 the General Membership for the Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues voted in favor of the following recommendation: "That the Edmonton Minor Hockey Association be granted the right to sell $25.00 "Corporate Rate Fee" to all of it minor hockey players, during hockey registrations." Therefore, all families of SWAT Hockey will pay an additional $25.00 in lieu of purchasing their community league memberships at time of registration. We encourage all families to purchase their Community League memberships. Please contact your Community League to see about applying your $25.00 reciept as a credit towards your membership.
DEFINITION: CORPORATE RATE FEE.
The Corporate Rate Fee is a special standardized rate of $25.00 for any Community League Family Membership when sold through the Edmonton Minor Hockey Association (hereafter referred to as EMHA). This rate is available only to Hockey Registrants. The fee amount was based on the average fee of Community League Memberships across the city. See efcl.org / News for more information.
Fees will be collected from families up until hockey registration ends in early January, this year being January 10, 2011.
For any questions on how to obtain your community league card and skate tags you must contact the Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues at http://www.efcl.org/. SWAT Hockey will not be giving out or selling any community league membership cards or skate tags.
About the Child Fitness Tax Credit (Revenue Canada)
You can claim, to a maximum of $500 per child, the fees paid in one calendar year that relate to the cost of registering your child in a prescribed program of physical activity. A prescribed program must be ongoing for a minimum of 8 weeks duration, must be supervised, must be suitable for children and must require significant physical activity. Minor hockey does meet the requirements of the noted “prescribed program”.
